The Quinanes who emigrated to

Australia from Ireland

 

Patrick Quinane (#65), wife Mary (nee Ryan) and children Jeremiah, Honora and Nancy emigrated to Australia on board the "Wanata" in 1852.

Daniel Quinane (#161), arrived in Melbourne, Australia on board the "Eastern States" in 1855 and also headed for the Gold Fields around Ballarat. On the 8th April 1856 he married Ellen Stapleton at Eureka, Ballarat.

Michael Quinane (#409), arrived in Australia in 1879 according to information on his death certificate. This certificate also has his parents exactly the same Daniel's parents and from this and records in Ireland it can be shown that they were brothers.

Peter Quinane (#427) was born in 1838 and baptised on 11th March at Upperchurch, County Tipperary Ireland. He arrived in Australia on board the "Champion of the Seas" in September 1865. Peter was a brother of the above Michael and Daniel. On 28 August 1880 he married Mary Ryan at St Francis' Church in Melbourne. They did not have any children and Peter died in Melbourne on 22 June 1898.

Johanna Quinane (#425) was born in 1831 and baptised on 17th June at Upperchurch, County Tipperary Ireland and emigrated to Australia. Johanna was a sister of the above Peter and Michael Quinane. In 1881 she married James Ryan in Ballarat, James was also born in Tipperary Ireland. Johanna and James did not have any children and she died in Ballarat on the 27th May 1906.

Nancy (#2608) and Judy (#2609) Quinane, departed Plymouth on board the "Phoebe Dunbar" on the 5th September 1854 and arrived in Melbourne on the 25th December 1854. Both travelled as 'Assisted Passengers" with Nancy going to work for a Mr Browne of Deep Creek and Judy to work for a Mr Armstrong at Oaklands.
It is not known where Nancy and July fit into the family tree and no record of either of them has been found following their arrival in Australia.

Jeremiah Quinane -

William Quinane (#446) - was born in Rusheen, Borrisoleigh in 1873 and came to Australia from Ireland in the hope that Australia's climate would enable him to recover from an illness he had contracted. Unfortunately emigrated from Ireland

John Quinane (#399), wife Mary and daughter Johanna arrived in Australia on board the "City of Melbourne" in May 1865.

John Quinane (# ) who was 22 years old and his wife Mary  who was 20 arrived in Australia on board the "Eurynome" in December 1865.  

John Quinane (#2654) was born in Tipperary Ireland in1844. It is not known when he migrated to Australia, however, he married Honorah Hynes in Ballarat on 14th November 1868. John was a labourer and could not read or write.
