Michael Quinane, ( See Michael's Family Chart ) was born in 1847 in Gortnahalla, Upperchurch, County Tipperary, Ireland. His parents were Michael Quinane and Mary Ryan, he was the youngest child in a family of 8 children.

At the age of 32 he arrived in Australia in 1879 according to information on his death certificate. This certificate tells us that his parents are exactly the same as Daniel's parents and from this and records in Ireland it can be shown that they were brothers.  We have not found the shipping records that contain details of Michael's trip to Australia.

Upon his arrival in Australia Michael settled in the Irrewarra/Colac area where his older brother Daniel was still living following his wife, Ellen's death. In 1880 Michael married Elizabeth Agnes Sharp. Michael and Elizabeth had 10 children and their descendants are still living in the Irrewarra/Colac area. Their children were Mary (1881), Michael (1882), Catherine (1884), Margaret (1886), John (1888), Jane (1890), Michael (1892), Elizabeth Agnes (1895), James (1898), and Daniel (1904).

Michael and his wife Elizabeth Agnes Sharp had their last child in 1904, Michael died at Beeac on 2 September 1919 and is buried in the Beeac Cemetery. His wife, Elizabeth died on 8 November 1934 at Warrion and is also buried in the Beeac Cemetery. Refer - http://members.datafast.net.au/marrtronics/BEEAC.HTM
